Red Hook Roots | The Sketchbook Project, Brooklyn Art Library
My parents, Dotsy Adele Jones (now Smith) and Mitchell Wayne Smith, were raised on the same block in Red Hook. I have grown up relentlessly fascinated by the stories of their life in the neighborhood in the 60s and 70s and I want others to hear them, too. I want to keep a piece of their legacy in Brooklyn, where it all began, so I created this sketchbook of their anecdotes and stories for The Sketchbook Project and it now lives at the Brooklyn Art Library (Library Call Number: 378.11-2).
